What are the Stone Edging options?
Classique Stone can create any number of edge styles to suit your personal taste. The most common being square, pencil round, Lambs tongue, OG, Half Bullnose and Chamfer.
What is the difference between Marble, Granite and CaesarStone?
Marble and Granite are natural stones whilst Caesar Stone is one type of a number of man made or engineered stones available in the market.
What is the difference between CaesarStone/Essastone/Quantum Quartz?
Basically, they are all engineered/reconstituted (man-made) stones brands.
What is a "Waterfall End"?
This is also known as an End Panel. It is the piece of stone that runs vertically from the top of the benchtop to the floor at the end of the cabinetry.
Will stone stain or mark?
Stone may stain or mark if it is mistreated and exposed to excessive red wine, fats etc. which are not cleaned well and/or in a timely manner.
Will stone chip?
Stone is a strong and durable product but it can chip and scratch if mistreated.
Can I put hot pots off the stove on the stone?
This is not recommended, but does occur. This can cause the stone to crack.
How do I clean stone?
You can clean stone using warm water or (if necessary) using only neutral detergents (always do a small sample area as a test). You can also clean stone with Methylated Spirits (such as acetone).
Can you sit or stand on the bench top?
No this is not recommended, benchtops should not be stood on or sat on. Natural and engineered stones are strong in compression but weak in tension and so undue bending stresses are to be avoided otherwise cracking may occur.
Can stone be placed directly over a laminate bench top, if you are renovating?
Yes. This is a very cost effective way of giving your kitchen a fast make over.
Can stone be sealed?
Natural stone can be sealed, as for engineered stone this is not advisable and in some instances can void the warranty. If sealing is required then please contact us for more information.
What is the warranty on stone products?
We provide a 12 month warranty on our workmanship. For engineered stone products most manufacturers provide a 10 year limited warranty. As for natural stone there is no warranty as it is a natural product.
